The State Dance Ensemble of the Peoples of the Caucasus "Youth of Dagestan" was created in 1978.
An original program, prepared in new scales, when the naturalness of each movement is combined with deep penetration into a living image, was presented by the ensemble at the world exhibition in Zagreb SFRE.
During the All-Union Review of Amateur Artistic Creativity, the ensemble was awarded a number of awards: the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Dagestan ASSR, the State Academic Order of Friendship of the Dance Ensemble of the USSR under the direction of Igor Moiseyev.
In 1991, the ensemble "Youth of Dagestan" was awarded the status of the State Dance Ensemble of the Peoples of the Caucasus. During this period, a great deal of work was done on the creative, methodological and professional development of the group.
The ensemble is actively touring, has visited three continents of the world - Eurasia, North America, South America, going to international festivals in Spain, Germany, Greece, Japan, China, the USA, Trinidad Tobago, Bolivia, Santa Lucia, etc. From the welcoming address of the Organizers of the folklore festival "Palma de Mallorca", each dance of the ensemble is a correspondence acquaintance with folk beliefs that come from the depths of centuries, this is a guttural cry and the clatter of horseshoes, the warmth of girls' hearts and the temperament of horsemen of the mountainous region.
At the festival, the ensemble was awarded first prize for its active participation in 1997 in the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Imam Shamil.
On December 19, 2008, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Dagestan, the ensemble was awarded an honorary diploma of the Republic of Dagestan for its services in the development of musical art and active participation in the Days of the Republic of Dagestan in Moscow.
By decree of the Head of the Republic of Dagestan in 2015, gratitude was expressed to the ensemble's team for their contribution to the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the founding of the city of Derbent.
The founders of the ensemble are: Saidakhmed Satayev - Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan, Honored Economist of the Republic of Dagestan; Zalimkhan Khangereev - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Veterans of the team
The ensemble includes: 2 honored workers of culture of the Republic of Dagestan, 11 honored artists of the Republic of Dagestan, 2 honored artists of the Republic of Ingushetia, laureates of various awards and competitions, winners and diploma holders of All-Russian and Republican reviews. While honing their professional skills, the ensemble's artists work as teachers in the choreography studio at the ensemble, instilling in the younger generation a love for the art of Dagestan, fostering respect for the traditions and customs of their ancestors, instilling the best spiritual and moral qualities.
